Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Integrate advanced product features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, which include streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failure states.

• Analyze and optimize application performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model assessment and product refinement.

• Collaborate with machine learning and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system functionalities.

• Maintain production quality, app security, and adhere to Google Play Store release guidelines.

• Take ownership of the native client experience for data-driven mobile features that are intelligent.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Android development with Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI-driven functionalities such as large language models, vision, or speech APIs into live applications.

• Strong expertise in asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Good experience with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Proven ability to create resilient mobile interfaces that can handle latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Excellent skills in debugging, memory management, and performance profiling.

• Familiarity with on-device machine learning frameworks like MLKit and TensorFlow Lite.

• History of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
