Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Integrate advanced product features, such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations, through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, including streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failure states.

• Analyze and enhance app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency for resource-heavy features.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model evaluation and product refinement.

• Collaborate with ML and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system behaviors.

• Maintain production quality, app security, and adherence to Google Play Store release standards.

• Take ownership of the native client experience for intelligent, data-driven mobile functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience integrating AI-driven functionalities, such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs, into production applications.

• Strong expertise in asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Solid background with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Proven ability to create resilient mobile interfaces that handle latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Strong skills in debugging, memory management, and performance profiling.

• Familiarity with on-device machine learning frameworks like MLKit and TensorFlow Lite.

• A history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
