Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Incorporate chat, vision, voice, and recommendation functionalities through backend APIs.

• Design real-time interaction frameworks, including streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failure states.

• Analyze and enhance app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for model assessment and product development.

• Collaborate with ML and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system functionalities.

• Maintain production quality, app security, and compliance with Google Play Store release guidelines.

• Take ownership of the native client experience for intelligent, data-driven mobile features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI-driven functionalities, such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into production applications.

• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Solid experience working with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Proven ability to create resilient mobile interfaces that withstand latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Strong skills in debugging, memory management, and performance profiling.

• Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks like MLKit or TensorFlow Lite.

• A successful history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
