Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Incorporate advanced product features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, which include streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failure states.

• Analyze and enhance app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Establish telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model assessment and product refinement.

• Collaborate with ML and backend engineering teams to outline API contracts, protocols, and system functionalities.

• Maintain production quality, application security, and adherence to Google Play Store release criteria.

• Take ownership of the native client experience for intelligent, data-driven mobile features.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI-driven features such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into live applications.

• Deep understanding of asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Extensive experience with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Capability to create resilient mobile interfaces that manage latency, network unreliability, and dynamic model outputs.

• Proficient debugging, memory management, and performance profiling abilities.

• Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks like MLKit or TensorFlow Lite.

• Proven history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
