This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.
• Execute preventive maintenance and basic servicing on TXRF, XRF, and XRD systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair analytical X-ray equipment along with associated devices.
• Diagnose systems on-site utilizing a Digital Voltmeter (DVM).
• Validate instruments post-service repairs by implementing operational and performance protocols.
• Arrange travel plans and produce individual expense reports.
• Ensure customer approval of preventive maintenance or repair tasks.
• Organize customer WebEx sessions, provide phone support, and conduct lab or fab facility inspections.
• Participate in certified Rigaku product training at the Rigaku factory.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with service/support centers.
• Travel extensively from Monday to Friday, with potential weekend and holiday commitments, to assist scientific and industrial clients.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Fundamental understanding of network interfacing.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly.
• General knowledge of analog electronics, high-voltage circuitry, laser technology, and high-vacuum systems.
• Capability to engage and communicate with scientists, typically holding advanced degrees in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Microbiology.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Capacity to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented focus.
• Must demonstrate responsiveness and reliability.
• Willingness to travel routinely and possess a current passport/visa for international travel as needed.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.
• Proficiency in using small hand tools.
