Ambulatory Technical Communications Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +14 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead patient scheduling and communication initiatives across Ambulatory Services.

• Identify and supervise operational and communication strategies through needs assessments and capacity management.

• Contribute insights and analyses to organizational strategic plans and evaluations.

• Ensure the quality and accuracy of communication content and its distribution.

• Establish and manage communication operations, including appointment reminders, pre-service mailings, and proactive care-gap closure.

• Develop, implement, and execute communication strategies.

• Incorporate multimedia communications for external audiences.

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve communication and appointment-system challenges.

• Propose and apply service-recovery strategies.

• Collaborate with senior leadership, providers, and business partners to assess practice and program requirements.

• Provide innovative solutions to enhance patient access.

• Cultivate a world-class customer service environment with a focus on consumer access and experience.

• Oversee the work of an analyst team that supports communication activities.

• Create standard patient messaging utilizing telephonic, virtual, and live resources.

• Supervise pre-visit and reminder communications across all platforms in collaboration with clinics and providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must permanently reside in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or West Virginia.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a healthcare setting.

• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.

• Familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, and other pertinent privacy regulations and policies.

• Experience managing large, complex cross-functional projects.

• Proven experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects or multi-track programs utilizing project management practices, methodologies, and process improvement techniques.

• Strong project management and business analysis expertise.

• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into applications.

• Comfortable engaging with internal staff, management, and clinic partners.

• Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lead, delegate, and influence effectively.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.

• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.

• Ability to supervise both direct and indirect project team members.

• Must be willing and able to travel 15–20% as necessary.

• Availability for extended and weekend hours as required.

• Project Management Professional or Lean Six Sigma training is preferred.

• Leadership, supervisory, or project management experience is preferred.

• Experience in academic medicine is preferred.

• Experience creating patient communications for healthcare providers and diverse audiences is preferred.

• Background in project management, design, and coordination is preferred.

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Health Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.

• Physical ability to lift under 20 lbs.; prolonged standing, sitting, and walking; strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, and logical thinking; ability to adapt to frequent changes.
