Ambulatory Coder III, ENT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Abstract and validate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for inpatient, outpatient, and physician office/clinic environments.

• Code assigned providers or divisions based on the documentation found in medical records.

• Comply with coding and regulatory guidelines.

• Utilize coding software and resources to ascertain the correct codes.

• Address billing-related issues with supervisors/managers and engage in billing enhancement meetings.

• Follow departmental procedures for charge corrections.

• Take part in coding education, webinars, and internal training sessions.

• Offer feedback to providers to clarify and resolve coding issues.

• Manage assigned pre-billing edits effectively.

• Identify areas that necessitate further training.

• Mentor and support the training of fellow coders and new team members.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a post-high school diploma/highest degree achieved.

• An associate degree is preferred.

• A minimum of five years of professional fee coding experience.

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.

• Specialty certification from AAPC relevant to the assigned specialty.

• Familiarity with governmental and commercial payer guidelines.

• Proficient knowledge of office equipment, including fax and copier machines.

• Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

• Data entry proficiency.

• Solid mathematical skills.
