This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Assist the Manager and Supervisor in all facets of the Air / Ocean Export Department.
• Accurately and timely execute international air and ocean export shipments while ensuring compliance.
• Prepare the necessary documentation for international air and ocean transportation.
• Collaborate with vendors to secure space and services.
• Guarantee precise and timely billing for clients and vendors.
• Input shipment information into operating systems.
• Arrange international export shipments in coordination with customers.
• Adhere to internal, customer-specific, and governmental compliance requirements.
• Monitor shipment reports, exceptions, and outstanding items.
• Maintain communication with overseas contacts for shipment visibility and resolution of issues.
• Report service failures, operational challenges, and compliance concerns.
• Assist with specialized shipments, including healthcare, temperature-sensitive items, hazardous materials, and regulated commodities.
• Evaluate workflow, operational reports, and shipment queues.
• Foster relationships with vendors and customers.
• Contribute to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and initiatives for process improvement.
• Oversee account payments, vendor accounts payable, shipment costs, and accounting discrepancies.
• Support competitive pricing, new business transitions, customer retention, and customer feedback processes.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of shipment records while supporting technology initiatives.
• Advocate for Expeditors' cultural values and a safe, respectful, and professional work environment.
• 1-2 years of industry-specific experience (country specific).
• Strong knowledge of the market and products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, understand, and communicate effectively to achieve positive outcomes.
• Proactive and possess strong organizational abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word).
• Fluent in English.
• Hazardous Materials certification is preferred.
