Air Quality Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop inventories for air quality and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as mitigation strategies and reports for air quality and GHG impact assessments.

• Assist in creating climate action plans, adaptation strategies, and other related initiatives.

• Conduct analyses on energy impacts.

• Execute air dispersion modeling and health risk assessments (HRAs) with guidance from internal mentorship.

• Clearly present intricate analyses to clients, the public, and decision-makers.

• Work autonomously while also engaging in team brainstorming and mentoring through knowledge exchange.

• Oversee multiple projects concurrently.

• Directly communicate and collaborate with clients and project managers.

• Utilize scientific data and innovative problem-solving techniques.

• Effectively manage time to adhere to deadlines.

• Conduct site visits and participate in outdoor activities as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Earth Science, Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory, or equivalent work experience or training in an environmental discipline.

• Preferred experience includes familiarity with air quality and GHG emissions assessments and climate action planning.

• Exceptional communication, writing, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong technical skills to quickly grasp analytical methods.

• Capability to collaborate effectively and support team achievements.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check is required.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. is essential.

• Proficiency in using a computer and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

• Must be able to participate in both in-person and virtual meetings and communicate via phone.

• Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Must be capable of walking/trekking over uneven terrain and long distances in extreme weather conditions.

• Ability to work in outdoor project-site environments that may involve excessive noise, uneven surfaces, extreme weather conditions, moving vehicles, and equipment.
