AI Software Engineering Lead

📋 Description

• Accelerate the integration of Artificial Intelligence within the Veralto Water Quality software and firmware divisions.

• Collaborate with leaders in software, firmware, architecture, product management, and R&D across Water Quality operating companies.

• Introduce AI-driven engineering methodologies to enhance speed, quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

• Engage directly with development teams to modernize software delivery and implement AI-assisted development workflows.

• Scale best practices in AI engineering across various technology stacks.

• Mentor engineers in AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, refactoring, and debugging techniques.

• Create reusable standards for AI engineering, including prompt libraries, playbooks, and frameworks.

• Facilitate workshops, hackathons, and technical bootcamps.

• Assess new AI development technologies and coding agents.

• Assist in the modernization of legacy systems through AI-enabled development strategies.

• Establish KPIs to measure adoption, productivity, quality, and business impact.

• Foster collaboration among multiple Water Quality operating companies.

• Set up repeatable AI engineering standards within the first year.

• Boost the adoption of AI-enabled development workflows.

• Enhance development velocity and software quality.

• Build a community of engineering practice.

• Generate measurable business outcomes linked to AI adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• Practical experience with AI development tools such as GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code, Codex, large language models, agentic workflows, or AI-powered engineering platforms.

• Proficient in developing commercial software products using contemporary programming languages like C#, Python, Java, TypeScript, C++, or similar.

• Familiarity with cloud-native platforms, SaaS applications, APIs, containers, and CI/CD environments.

• In-depth knowledge of modern software development practices.

• Preferred: experience in both software and embedded/firmware development settings.

• Preferred: background in IoT solutions, industrial automation, instrumentation, or connected products.

• Preferred: experience in leading DevOps, platform engineering, architecture, or developer productivity initiatives.

• Preferred: knowledge of implementing organizational change management programs within technology teams.

• Preferred: familiarity with markets related to water quality, environmental monitoring, laboratory, utility, compliance, or industrial technology.

• Preferred: understanding of AI governance, security, privacy, and compliant AI development practices.
