This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the UX definition for a specific product area, encompassing user needs, interactions, and underlying rationale.
• Collaborate with Product teams to convert user objectives into interface components and behaviors.
• Make and effectively communicate quality-versus-speed trade-offs to ensure timely releases.
• Engage with users, outline workflows, and document the human and organizational context of their tasks.
• Be responsible for pattern decisions within the product area and contribute to Onebrief's overarching design language and system.
• Assess and intentionally incorporate emerging AI UX patterns.
• Integrate traditional design principles with AI-native workflows across various fidelities.
• Document design intentions through visual aids and written records for human collaborators and agentic tools.
• Develop expertise in the real-world workflows of military planners.
• Work alongside Product and Engineering teams to present solutions and trade-offs that propel projects forward.
• Proven experience in independently owning the UX definition for a product area or workflow from inception to deployment, including understanding user needs and making interface decisions.
• Proficiency in fundamental UX/UI concepts and practices.
• Demonstrated experience in articulating trade-offs between quality versus speed and scope versus fidelity.
• Experience in conducting direct user research and workflow mapping, along with documenting findings for others.
• Led the strategic and tactical implementation of at least one significant AI-driven workflow in a SaaS application.
• Familiarity with emerging AI UX patterns and a systematic approach for assessing their applicability to various use cases.
• Advanced skills in AI design tools.
• Intermediate understanding of foundational models and their associated trade-offs.
• Experience contributing to or formalizing design system and pattern decisions beyond individual projects.
• Knowledge of accessibility and fundamental interaction design principles.
• Active participant and contributor within the design systems community.
• Track record of enhancing team workflows or AI-enabled production methodologies.
