This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee the entire pod delivery process, which includes backlog refinement, technical breakdown, implementation, review, and release.
• Quickly prototype product ideas, customer opportunities, and internal tools in collaboration with Product, the CEO, and Sales teams.
• Design and develop orchestration pipelines that connect Slack, Jira or Linear, Git, CI/CD, triage, context gathering, fix attempts, PR creation, automated review, and human merge approval.
• Integrate review triggers into PR and CI/CD workflows for security analysis, bug-risk evaluation, test-gap detection, and dependency checks, ensuring pass/fail/escalate behavior and auditability.
• Utilize AI-assisted development responsibly across coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and code review tasks.
• Deliver production-visible results early and document successful practices into standards, guardrails, and tools for broader use.
• Provide practical technical leadership for pod-owned tasks and high-risk cross-cutting decisions, offering guidance on overall platform architecture.
• Spearhead a modernization initiative that includes assessing the .NET Core 2.1 environment and recommending a pragmatic upgrade strategy.
• Enhance the production process through improved Git workflows, CI/CD, testing expectations, and quality gates.
• Expand the pod by focusing on hiring, onboarding, scrum maturity, and mentoring of distributed and offshore engineers.
• Ensure fintech-grade security, compliance, auditability, and operational discipline, including assessing AI vendor and tooling risks.
• Independently drive engineering initiatives, eliminate technical obstacles, and achieve business outcomes with minimal oversight from leadership.
• Lead technical discovery and solution design for AI-enabled features within an enterprise payments platform.
• Advocate for practical, production-ready AI adoption throughout the engineering organization.
• Within the first 90 days, gain a comprehensive understanding of the platform and its risks, deliver an AI-first production-visible outcome, develop a rapid prototype or MVP, publish playbook v1, launch an agentic pipeline prototype, mentor engineers outside the pod, evaluate .NET Core 2.1, suggest rollout strategies, and independently implement a significant engineering enhancement.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant senior technical leadership experience.
• Strong practical skills in working with existing production codebases—experience beyond just greenfield projects.
• Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to a small team that delivers tangible results.
• History of mentoring and implementing new engineering practices beyond your immediate team.
• Practical and safe application of AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience in building agentic pipelines, with the ability to articulate triggers, agent steps, human checkpoints, CI/CD integration, and failure management.
• Extensive hands-on experience with .NET/C# in enterprise production settings.
• Proficient in React/TypeScript and .NET/C#, with strong architectural and communication skills.
• Experience in designing, developing, or implementing AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, LLM integrations, or AI-assisted software engineering practices.
• Solid experience in payments platforms, payment processing systems, fintech products, banking integrations, or other regulated financial environments.
• Familiarity with legacy .NET Core upgrades.
• Experience in developing a pod or small team into a stable scrum team (or leading multiple squads).
• Experience in establishing engineering standards, test automation, or secure SDLC practices.
• Experience utilizing AI to enhance codebase comprehension, refactoring, test generation, or migration planning.
• Knowledge of agentic SDLC automation, including PR review agents, security scanning in CI/CD, bug-triage-to-fix pipelines, and integrations with Slack, Jira, or Linear.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead technical initiatives, influence engineering direction, and achieve business results without needing detailed guidance from leadership.
• Nice to have: React and TypeScript experience.
• Backend: extensive hands-on .NET/C# experience, including legacy .NET Core 2.1 and modern .NET.
• Data: SQL Server experience.
• Platform: familiarity with AWS, Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions, Jira or Linear.
• AI and agents: experience with coding assistants, agent orchestration, multi-step workflows, MCP/tool integration, PR and CI/CD hooks, and webhook-driven pipelines.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous environments, make sound technical decisions, prioritize tasks, and drive engineering outcomes with minimal direction.
• Flexible work hours and locations, emphasizing energy management over time tracking.
• Access to online learning resources and a budget for professional development.
• A collaborative environment that promotes learning and growth across teams without silos.
• A vibrant social culture with team lunches, social events, and opportunities for creative expression.
