AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and provide support for high-quality code.

• Construct, operate, and utilize MCP servers, which includes tool design, authentication/OAuth, multi-tenant security, and deployment processes.

• Create LLM agents that incorporate tool/function calling and manage multi-agent orchestration.

• Assess and analyze agent behavior while implementing observability measures in a production environment.

• Engage in architectural and design conversations, assessing trade-offs related to scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Develop backend services using Python for AI and Agent tasks, as well as Java for integration with the client’s core platform.

• Incorporate AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot into your daily workflow.

• Participate in code review processes.

• Identify areas of technical debt and propose solutions.

• Decompose development tasks into clear, manageable components and execute them consistently.

• Collaborate with Product Management and Quality Assurance teams to refine requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality work.

• Share insights regarding new patterns, tools, and methodologies.

• Perform additional relevant duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be located in Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, or Mexico.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in backend-focused software development using Java and Python, with significant exposure to Agentic AI.

• Strong background in Java and Python, including experience with data structures, relational databases, and SQL.

• Practical experience with AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot as part of a daily development routine.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly GCP, along with concepts like containers, caching, and distributed systems is advantageous.

• Experience with Microservices architecture.

• Ability to work independently on well-defined challenges and see them through to completion.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to unit and functional testing.

• Experience in creating AI-driven applications, agentic products and features, working with LLMs, or utilizing frameworks such as LangChain or Google ADK.

• Practical production experience in building, operating, and utilizing MCP servers, including tool design, authentication/OAuth, multi-tenant security, and deployment.

• Experience in developing LLM agents which involve tool/function calling and multi-agent orchestration, like A2A or similar.

• Experience in testing and assessing agent behavior, along with observability practices in production settings.

• Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field obtained through post-secondary education, hands-on experience, or a combination of both.

• Nice-to-have: experience with React and TypeScript; familiarity with JavaScript design patterns and single-page applications.
