AI-Directed Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and implement software solutions across the complete Envisionware stack, which includes backend, frontend, native clients, and AWS infrastructure.

• Rapidly transition ideas from concept to demonstration to production.

• Break down problems and product requirements into specification-driven, AI-executable tasks.

• Utilize AI tools to produce code for APIs, user interfaces, SQL, infrastructure configurations, and workflows.

• Validate, test, and strengthen AI-generated outputs while taking full ownership.

• Manage features comprehensively from database schema through Java services, Angular or React user interfaces, and Kubernetes deployment on AWS.

• Set up and deploy Docker/Kubernetes workloads on AWS.

• Design and implement AI agents based on Amazon Bedrock, including action groups, tool integrations, Knowledge Base RAG retrieval, and Guardrails.

• Operate workloads on AWS with a focus on IAM least privilege, cost efficiency, and CloudWatch observability.

• Enhance AI-driven development patterns, prompts, and tools.

• Deliver features from concept to demo-ready status in five days or less when applicable.

• Create documented workflows for AI-directed development, enhancing delivery speed and consistency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid foundation in software engineering principles (APIs, distributed systems, debugging, data flows).

• Practical AWS experience (3+ years) in building and managing production workloads.

• Ability to understand IAM, VPC networking, and the costs and failure modes associated with AWS services.

• Proficiency in infrastructure as code on AWS; CloudFormation is preferred, while CDK or Terraform are also acceptable.

• Full-stack expertise encompassing backend services, user interfaces, and deployment configurations.

• Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes, or a strong willingness to learn quickly; capability to debug a failing pod, interpret a manifest, and implement a Helm change.

• Proven experience utilizing AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar to deliver tangible results.

• Strong capability to assess AI output for accuracy, security, and deployment challenges.

• Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environments.

• Preference for delivering functional software over perfect design.

• Systems thinking and understanding of how components interact at scale.

• Openness to questioning both human-generated and AI-generated assumptions.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• AWS experience is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Java/Jersey, Angular or React, PostgreSQL, or experience in library, public-sector, or multi-tenant SaaS domains is advantageous.
