AI Data Governance Consultant – m/f/x

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted advisor on data security and governance for AI projects throughout client engagements.

• Evaluate and provide guidance on data security risks related to AI systems, encompassing data exposure, access controls, model and data lineage, third-party and cloud data management, and secure data architecture.

• Inject a data engineering perspective into governance efforts, leveraging experience in data warehousing and data platforms.

• Assist clients and stakeholders in navigating emerging AI-related risks in clear, actionable language.

• Convert technical risks into decisions that leadership can implement.

• Engage in and support the acquisition of new business by participating in sales discussions, fostering client trust prior to contracts, and transforming relationships into signed engagements.

• Establish and maintain visible, ongoing trust with clients.

• Make a measurable contribution to securing 1–2 new client engagements within the first six months.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of consulting and independently leading engagements while aligning with account team strategies.

• Background in data engineering with practical experience in leading data warehousing projects.

• Comprehensive understanding of AI data security practices, including access management, data classification, secure architecture, cloud data security, and risk assessment.

• Ability to effectively pitch ideas and finalize deals as part of a broader account team.

• Exceptional communication skills in English for candidates located in Portugal.

• Outstanding communication skills in both English and German for candidates based in Germany or Austria.

• Some familiarity with legal and compliance issues (preferred).

• Experience across various industries or regulatory settings in the DACH or EU market (preferred).

• Established network or reputation in AI governance/security (preferred).

• Background in cloud infrastructure as an engineer or architect (preferred).
