This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Establish the architectural framework for each client project, covering skill decomposition, tool orchestration, data flow, integration strategy, and deployment model.
• Ensure that the architecture adheres to security best practices and meets client specifications.
• Create client-specific guidelines and constraints.
• Assess and approve AI Workflow Engineer builds in accordance with the established architectural framework.
• Manage integration architecture with client systems, which includes authentication, data ingress, downstream deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with the Head of Platform Engineering and Product to make decisions regarding platform versus custom solutions.
• Design and document the intended technical state, transition strategy, and operational readiness criteria for project handover.
• Maintain the technical risk register for engagements and escalate risks to the Delivery Principal.
• Act as the Technical Lead across various client projects.
• Work alongside the Delivery Principal to determine scope, timeline, and technical feasibility.
• Present technical architecture to high-level client stakeholders, including CTOs, technical partners, information security personnel, and enterprise architects.
• Define integrations and collaborate with the platform development team on connectivity and upstream system integration.
• Guide AI Workflow Engineers in architectural decisions, prompt strategy, and evaluation design.
• Provide technical insights during commercial discussions and identify risks related to scope creep and platform limitations.
• Develop and mentor AI Workflow Engineers and Integration Engineers.
• Offer structured technical feedback to functional managers on capability development.
• Contribute architectural frameworks and technical playbooks to the Technical Lead community.
• Refine standards based on practical engagement experiences.
• Mentor junior Technical Leads and aid in the development of cohort capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, data protection regulations, security standards, and AiVA architectural guidelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise integration.
• Proven history of leading complex technical architecture for client-facing delivery projects.
• Comfortable presenting to senior technical audiences.
• Experience with AI or automation platforms at an enterprise level.
• Familiarity with agent frameworks, LLM APIs, and orchestration strategies.
• Cloud certification (preferably Azure, with AWS or GCP experience being relevant) or equivalent demonstrated cloud architecture expertise.
• Strong background in integration engineering, including authentication, data pipelines, deployment infrastructure, and monitoring.
• Ability to work across different geographies and time zones, including clients from the US, UK, and EMEA.
• Experience in legal, professional services, or knowledge-worker environments is preferred but not required.
• Senior technical presence in client interactions with Chief Technology Officers, enterprise architects, and technical partners.
• Capability to direct technical work and discern when to intervene versus delegate tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and prioritize competing demands.
• Strong interest in AI-enabled automation architecture and the latest AI engineering practices.
• Resilience in high-pressure technical scenarios with clients.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adaptation as the AiVA platform progresses.
• A quality-first approach to architectural clarity, evaluation, and observability.
