Afrikaans Language Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Engage in dialogues with language models regarding various language scenarios

• Validate the accuracy of facts and the soundness of logic

• Capture reproducible instances of errors

• Document instances of model failures

• Propose enhancements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics

• Contribute to the training of the next generation of AI for Afrikaans speakers

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in the Afrikaans language

• Extensive understanding of Afrikaans grammar, syntax, morphology, spelling, phonology, and pragmatics

• Capability to evaluate verb tense and aspect, sentence structure, word order, regional dialects, formal and informal registers, and the subtleties of the Afrikaans writing system

• Ability to communicate clearly and metacognitively, demonstrating your thought process

• A master’s or PhD in Afrikaans language, linguistics, or a closely related field is preferred

• Experience with peer-reviewed publications, teaching, or hands-on linguistic analysis projects indicates suitability
