This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Operate the Aerosonde unmanned aircraft system in a safe manner.
• Maintain a vigilant lookout and listening practices using available sensors, radios, and ground control station equipment.
• Adhere to air traffic control clearances.
• Ensure safe and positive control of the air vehicle throughout all flight phases.
• Take necessary actions in emergency situations.
• Operate onboard sensors during flight.
• Assist the Mission Commander and Mission Coordinator with flight mission planning and briefings as instructed.
• Calculate takeoff and landing data following standard operating procedures.
• Utilize checklists and other standardized manuals effectively.
• Safely manage the sensor payload.
• Analyze and report sensor data vital for mission success and flight safety.
• Collaborate effectively with a small team with minimal supervision.
• Engage in daily flying and maintenance schedules, contributing to all operational aspects to meet mission requirements.
• Report directly to the assigned Site Lead while deployed.
• Function in austere deployed environments with limited comfort access.
• Previous experience with small and larger unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), including hand-launched types.
• Ability to control the unmanned aircraft semi-autonomously via the Ground Control Station (GCS).
• Proficient in manual control of the unmanned aircraft using line-of-sight.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Military-trained UAS Operator.
• Possession of an FAA A&P license and either a private or commercial pilot license.
• Valid FAA Class 2 medical certificate (or ability to meet the standards).
• Must comply with minimum military health standards for global deployment and unmanned aircraft flight qualifications.
