Advisor, Configuration Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain standards and procedures for configuration management across accounts and regions.

• Implement configuration management activities and tools within project workflows.

• Collaborate with project managers to create configuration management plans, milestones, and timelines.

• Break down configuration items into suitable configuration units.

• Identify challenges and propose effective solutions.

• Ensure the integrity of version control for both software and non-software components.

• Create strategies for resolving discrepancies.

• Conduct audits in accordance with configuration management plans.

• Establish and secure approval for baselines.

• Develop technical installation guidelines and documentation for hardware/software standards.

• Assist customers and support staff in comprehending product configurations.

• Create scripts and automation tools to facilitate the building, integration, and deployment of software releases.

• Collaborate with development teams and/or the Release Manager regarding branch and code-merge implications.

• Enhance the release process.

• Investigate methodologies and technologies related to configuration management.

• Develop infrastructure as code for a cloud-based PaaS platform.

• Support lead personnel for designated accounts/regions.

• Provide guidance and leadership to less experienced team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of six years of experience in configuration analysis.

• Familiarity with distributed computer systems, software, and related communication networks.

• Experience with networking principles and local area networks.

• Proficiency in working with the company's software and hardware products.

• At least 3–5 years of experience with containers.

• In-depth knowledge of software build cycles.

• Experience in code deployment.

• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools.

• Proficiency in web programming languages.

• Ability to code for the automation of repetitive processes.

• Competence with continuous integration tools.
