This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
β’ Conduct initial evaluations of psychiatric and medical requirements for incoming psychiatric and chemical dependency admission referrals.
β’ Perform virtual assessments via phone triage and patient evaluations.
β’ Manage patients in acute crisis and establish the appropriate level of care.
β’ Carry out mental status assessments when an involuntary hold evaluation is necessary.
β’ Ascertain patient placement at the correct level of care.
β’ Offer illness advice and self-care strategies.
β’ Identify resources, consult, and refer patients as needed.
β’ Utilize the nursing process, physician input, and established telephone nursing guidelines and protocols.
β’ Ensure efficient operations and deliver quality care to achieve positive patient outcomes.
β’ Work evening/night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, variable days, and rotating weekends.
β’ Must reside in Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Tennessee, or South Carolina.
β’ Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
β’ A California Registered Nurse license must be obtained prior to commencement.
β’ Registered Nurse license in the state of residence is required.
β’ Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health.
β’ At least 2 years of practical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or emergency room/department.
β’ Professional understanding of clinical nursing protocols, regulations, institutional standards of care, risk management, disease processes, emergencies, health sciences, and pharmacology.
β’ Advanced knowledge of medical diagnoses, procedures, protocols, treatments, terminology, and relevant state and federal regulations and guidelines.
β’ Strong analytical and project management abilities.
β’ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills.
β’ Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical/health records.
β’ Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
β’ Competence in recognizing and responding appropriately to unsafe or emergency situations.
β’ Ability to maintain patient privacy and safeguard PHI.
β’ Skill in analyzing problems and implementing effective solutions.
β’ Ability to foster collaborative relationships with peers, physicians, nurses, administrators, and the public.
