Advanced Practice Provider, NP/PA/CNS – Virtual Pathology Anemia and Micronutrient Deficiency Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee initial consultations and follow-up appointments for patients within the virtual Pathology Anemia and Micronutrient Deficiency team.

• Deliver primary and/or specialty care in alignment with certification and licensure.

• Conduct thorough medical histories and perform physical examinations as needed.

• Initiate and interpret laboratory, radiology, cardiographic, and other diagnostic evaluations.

• Develop working diagnoses and treatment plans.

• Execute routine and specialized procedures as authorized and credentialed.

• Prescribe and oversee medications as permitted by licensure and relevant policies.

• Educate patients on diseases, treatments, potential drug side effects, and associated risks.

• Participate in medical team rounds, collaborating effectively with healthcare team members.

• Refer patients to specialists and relevant health resources when necessary.

• Ensure continuity of care while coordinating with multidisciplinary and specialty teams.

• Review patient records and treatment plans to assess quality and outcomes.

• Facilitate patient length of stay, discharge planning, and compliance with regulations in inpatient management.

• Foster the professional development of the healthcare team.

• Advocate for evidence-based practices, guidelines, and translation of research into practice.

• Conduct research studies and assist in data collection and analysis.

• Act as a clinical preceptor for students and assist in onboarding new caregivers.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Required experience in Hematology/Oncology.

• Must be a Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner (Family, Primary, Acute).

• MSN is required upon hire or within 3 years for external hires and internal hires transitioning from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.

• Graduate from an accredited APRN program.

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s).

• Must hold an RN license in applicable state(s).

• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a nationally accredited organization recognized by the state Board of Nursing.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.

• ACLS or PALS certification through the American Heart Association, or NRP certification through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on work setting.

• Must have arrangements with at least one physician as per applicable State Board of Nursing regulations.

• Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of relevant hospitals.

• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

• Proven competency in advanced assessment and diagnosis.

• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records.

• Maintain a high standard of moral and ethical conduct.

• Exhibit compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to outstanding patient care.

• Possess critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the capability to work independently.

• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate actions.

• Must comply with controlled-substance testing following an employment offer.

• Must adhere to the influenza prevention program or secure an approved exemption.

• Capability to walk and stand for extended periods.

• Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination necessary for performing physical examinations.

• Corrected vision and hearing within normal limits.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids.

• Follow standard precautions and utilize the required personal protective equipment.
