This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Provide assistance with specialized services related to Major Component Repair (MCR).
• Support the Drivetrain Specialist with crane operations, calling, rigging procedures, and qualifications.
• Execute substantial corrective repairs, including the removal and replacement of major components, often working independently.
• Supervise the safe execution of EDF power solutions and contractor personnel during the removal and replacement of major components, as well as in-situ repairs.
• Acquire and sustain specialized skills necessary for major-component replacement, in-situ repairs, and the development of tooling and fixtures.
• Travel to various sites to provide support for MCR activities.
• Aid in the creation, documentation, and training of work procedures and control instructions for heavy-lift operations.
• Contribute to quality control during the removal and replacement of major components and during large corrective in-situ repairs.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship to enhance safety, performance, and efficiency.
• Adhere to fiscal constraints, company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Operate independently while generally collaborating with other MCR technicians.
• Possess an Advanced Wind Technician qualification or have at least 1 year of experience in wind energy or industrial maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; or up to one year of relevant experience or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Successfully complete the relevant safety and technical training program for Advanced Wind Technician.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Capable of following both verbal and written instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to adhere to EDF power solutions' Safety & Quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Basic functional knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in reading and understanding schematic drawings.
• Comfortable working at heights, including climbing and descending towers of various elevations.
• Ability to provide hands-on training to fellow technicians.
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions, including cold, rain, and wind.
• Mechanical, electrical, and controls aptitude is essential.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate company service vehicles on-site and on public roads.
• Flexibility to accommodate both air and ground travel.
