Adjunct Professor – Biology/Biomedical Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Instruct on essential aspects of biomedical science, such as cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, with an emphasis on their relevance to human health and disease.

• Teach Foundations in Biomedical Sciences as well as capstone courses.

• Explain and connect key principles across biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, and physiology.

• Assist students in formulating focused research questions, synthesizing literature, designing and executing scholarly projects, and communicating their findings in both written and oral formats.

• Provide online instruction in accelerated eight-week courses utilizing Canvas.

• Develop and maintain lectures, lecture notes, learning objectives, PowerPoint presentations, syllabi, and assessments.

• Design and conduct examinations and various assessments.

• Establish an engaging and supportive online learning atmosphere.

• Offer academic guidance, mentorship, and timely feedback.

• Engage in curriculum development, review, and evaluation.

• Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to enhance academic objectives and student success.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree in the relevant subject.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently and effectively in a remote teaching environment.

• Proficiency in technology and digital tools utilized in online education.

• Prior experience teaching in an online or asynchronous learning setting is preferred.

• Familiarity with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System is preferred.

• Experience teaching accelerated courses at the graduate level is preferred.

• Proven ability to create engaging online instructional materials and assessments is preferred.

• Successful final candidates must complete a background investigation, which includes a criminal history record check and, if applicable, financial and/or motor vehicle history.
