This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Provide online instruction in Microbiology through fast-paced eight-week courses utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System.

• Create and maintain course materials, which include lectures, lecture notes, learning objectives, PowerPoint presentations, syllabi, and assessments.

• Design and administer exams and other assessments to measure student learning and the attainment of course objectives.

• Foster an engaging and supportive online learning atmosphere by employing innovative instructional techniques and effective teaching practices.

• Offer academic guidance, mentorship, and prompt feedback to students.

• Engage in curriculum development, review, and evaluation to uphold instructional quality and program effectiveness.

• Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to advance academic goals and promote student success.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree in Applied Genetics.

• Proven knowledge and expertise in Applied Genetics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to work independently and efficiently within a remote instructional setting.

• Proficient in technology and digital tools used in online education.

• Previous experience teaching in an online or asynchronous learning environment is preferred.

• Experience with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System is preferred.

• Experience teaching accelerated courses at the graduate level is preferred.

• Proven ability to create engaging online instructional materials and assessments is preferred.

• Successful candidates must complete a criminal history record check and, if applicable, financial and/or motor vehicle history checks.
