This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Ensure that knowledge is accessible to all learners while enhancing students’ cognitive abilities and appreciation for education.
• Implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) effectively.
• Encourage students’ self-esteem, motivation, civic duty, and leadership skills.
• Provide instruction in a designated subject area, tailoring the curriculum, techniques, strategies, and methods to fit student needs and learning preferences.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding academic and behavioral matters via phone calls, text messages, webinars, emails, progress reports, and other channels.
• Develop, analyze, modify, and execute ILPs based on assessments.
• Assist in ensuring ASU Prep Digital adheres to the instructional-hour regulations set by the Arizona Department of Education.
• Collaborate with colleagues to fulfill the overarching goals of the school program.
• Create and sustain a classroom environment that promotes learning.
• Conduct weekly live lessons in a webinar format for a specific grade level.
• Provide grading and tailored descriptive feedback on student assignments.
• Facilitate learning and foster community engagement in a digital setting.
• Participate in occasional travel for site visits, meetings, training sessions, and/or conferences.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Post-Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited college or university, or meeting the Highly Qualified criteria as established by the Arizona Department of Education.
• A State Aligned Teaching Certificate is required, with relevant endorsements where applicable, or successful completion of the appropriate AEPA or NES proficiency examinations.
• An Arizona State Teaching Certificate is preferred.
• Professional verification of successful classroom teaching performance and/or relevant student teaching experience.
• An active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Equivalent combinations of experience, training, and/or education may be considered.
• Ability to articulate clearly, demonstrate a professional demeanor, and take initiative.
• Understanding of human behavior and learning processes, including motivation, reinforcement, assessment, and feedback techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and capacity to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
• Effective problem-solving skills and self-directed learning aptitude.
• Proficiency in utilizing adaptive instructional technology tools in online courses.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Canvas, Zoom, Google Suites, and general computer technology.
• Capability to provide necessary devices, internet access, materials, supplies, and equipment for daily tasks.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, which may include standing, speaking, hearing, walking, sitting, and occasionally lifting up to 15 lbs.
