Adjunct Instructor – Computer Fundamentals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver synchronous online courses utilizing Microsoft Teams.

• Design and structure instruction to enhance student learning and engagement.

• Adjust teaching methods and strategies to accommodate diverse student requirements.

• Convey subject matter through synchronous online teaching.

• Exhibit comprehensive and precise knowledge of the discipline.

• Relate subject matter to associated fields.

• Stay updated with current subject matter knowledge via professional development and participation in professional organizations, meetings, conferences, or workshops.

• Ensure the student database is consistently updated and accurate concerning student grade records.

• Adhere to accreditation standards, scheduled class-hour requirements, and CIAT policies and procedures.

• Work collaboratively with staff and contribute to the execution of new projects and ideas.

• Comply with CIAT's business-casual dress code.

• Report to the Vice President of Education.

• No supervisory duties are required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Information Technology Instructors must submit official transcripts indicating a bachelor's (or higher) degree and active/current certification in the subject area being taught.

• General Education Instructors must provide official transcripts for bachelor's and master's (or higher) degrees that include at least 18 units in the subject area being taught.

• A minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field OR two years of teaching experience is required.

• Advanced expertise in the subject matter is preferred.

• Experience in synchronous online teaching is preferred.

• Strong presentation skills are essential.

• High levels of flexibility, creativity, and reliability are expected.

• Proficient working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as learning technologies like Canvas.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Capability to multitask effectively.

• Skills to resolve problems promptly and efficiently.

• Ability to work with urgency while actively engaging and listening to colleagues from other departments.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively with peers, academic departments, and administration.

• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Awareness of current trends, best practices, and pedagogical approaches in higher education.

• Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans catering to diverse student needs.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Compliance with college policies, procedures, and regulations is necessary.

• Adherence to CIAT compliance requirements along with Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies.

• Ability to follow communication protocols.

• Skills to type and operate computers, phones, and virtual communication platforms.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Willingness to occasionally travel for CIAT business.

• Ability to lift and transport materials, books, etc., weighing up to 10-15 pounds.
