Adjunct Faculty – Theology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Instruct and facilitate impactful learning experiences to achieve course outcomes.

• Provide comprehensive support for all aspects of the online learning environment.

• Deliver learning-centered instruction that aligns with South University’s curricula and delivery model.

• Develop instructional plans and activities designed to meet course outcomes and lesson objectives.

• Implement approved instructional content within online course shells.

• Leverage technology to enhance the student learning experience.

• Establish criteria for student performance and assess learning outcomes.

• Foster an educational setting that promotes learning and student participation.

• Encourage student success through flexibility, enthusiasm for teaching, and active student engagement.

• Keep precise records and ensure timely submission of grades and reports.

• Uphold academic and attendance policies.

• Integrate professional, life, and industry experiences into the learning process.

• Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on industry trends.

• Take part in faculty development initiatives.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, faculty, and administrative staff.

• Participate in curriculum and system task forces, campus events, workshops, and meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or D.Min.) in a relevant field related to Ministry, such as Biblical Studies, Theology, Spiritual Formation, Counseling, or other Practical Theology disciplines.

• Experience in pastoral roles or chaplaincy, with a preference for five or more years.

• Background in instruction or formal education, ideally within a post-secondary or college institution.

• Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification pertinent to the discipline.

• Experience in online teaching.

• Willingness to engage in an accelerated learning format, working online with students five out of seven days each online week.

• Membership in a professional association related to the area of instruction is preferred.

• At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary education institution is preferred.
