Adjunct Faculty, Psychology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Instruct and facilitate engaging learning experiences that meet course outcomes within the Psychology curriculum.

• Support all aspects of the learning environment while encouraging student participation.

• Provide instruction centered around student learning, in alignment with South University's curricula and delivery model.

• Develop instructional plans and activities designed to fulfill course outcomes and lesson objectives.

• Deliver sanctioned instruction within online course platforms when applicable.

• Utilize technology in the classroom to enhance student learning.

• Establish criteria for student performance and assess learning and achievement outcomes.

• Plan and prepare classes aimed at promoting student success.

• Maintain accurate records, submitting grades and reports punctually.

• Enforce academic and attendance policies consistently.

• Connect professional, life, and industry experiences to the learning process while staying informed about industry trends.

• Engage in faculty development, curriculum and system task forces, campus events, workshops, and meetings.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, faculty, and administrators at South University.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral or master's degree in the teaching discipline for undergraduate Psychology courses, or a master's degree with a concentration in Psychology and at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related field for graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework.

• Experience in instruction or a formal education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college environment.

• Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification relevant to the discipline.

• Ability to physically work in the United States while fulfilling all responsibilities.

• Access to a personal computer, Internet connection, and telephone service.

• Capability to hold required office hours and respond to student and administrative inquiries within the designated response times.

• Ability to complete New Faculty Orientation and any other assigned or mandatory training.

• Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, engaging with students online five out of seven days per week.

• Readiness to attend mandatory meetings.

• Preferred membership in a professional association related to the area of instruction.

• At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary institution is preferred; online teaching experience is a plus for online-only roles.
