Adjunct Faculty – English Composition

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support the department by covering courses as needed and as assigned.

• Engage in mandatory training sessions, whether virtually or in person.

• Assess student essays in introductory English composition courses.

• Offer constructive feedback to facilitate student improvement throughout their coursework.

• Adhere to grading and communication deadlines.

• Attend three faculty/staff meetings annually.

• Fulfill other in-person or virtual training requirements as necessary.

• Carry out additional related responsibilities as assigned.

• May necessitate occasional local travel, which could include overnight stays.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in English or English Composition/Writing.

• Additional educational or industry experience is preferred.

• Capability to effectively assess student essays in introductory English composition courses and provide valuable feedback.

• Successful completion of a background check is required.

• Current and/or ability to acquire clearances for Child Abuse, State Police, FBI Fingerprinting, and Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse.

• Strong working knowledge of the field.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with administrative staff, faculty, and students.

• Proficient in multi-tasking, prioritizing, and achieving desired outcomes.

• Skill in evaluating and reviewing curriculum.

• Capable in problem-solving and conflict management.

• Excellent skills in written, verbal, listening, and public speaking.

• Service-oriented mindset focused on assisting others.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
