Adjunct Faculty – Allied & Public Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Teach and facilitate impactful learning of course objectives within the curriculum.

• Actively support all aspects of the learning atmosphere.

• Deliver learning-focused instruction that prepares graduates to meet the changing demands of the marketplace.

• Oversee the educational process to ensure every student has a positive learning experience.

• Fulfill faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Supplement of the South University Employee Handbook.

• Provide instruction that aligns with the South University curriculum model and its delivery style.

• Design and implement instructional plans, activities that support lesson goals, and approved online course frameworks.

• Skillfully integrate technology in the classroom to enhance student learning.

• Set student performance criteria and assess learning outcomes.

• Foster an educational environment that promotes learning and student participation.

• Prepare and plan for classes aimed at student success.

• Advocate for student achievement through adaptability, enthusiasm for teaching, and active student involvement.

• Keep accurate records, submit grades and reports punctually, and uphold academic and attendance policies.

• Connect professional, life, and industry experiences to the learning process, while staying informed of professional and industry trends.

• Engage in faculty development opportunities.

• Maintain communication with supervisors, fellow faculty, and South University administrators.

• Participate in curriculum and system task forces, campus events such as orientations and graduations, workshops, and meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Faculty teaching general education courses at the undergraduate level: Doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).

• Faculty teaching associate degree courses intended for transfer to a baccalaureate degree: Doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).

• Faculty teaching associate degree courses not intended for transfer to the baccalaureate degree: Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline or associate's degree with demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.

• Faculty teaching baccalaureate courses: Doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).

• Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework: Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related field.

• Graduate teaching assistants: Master's in the teaching discipline or 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline, under the direct supervision of a faculty member experienced in the teaching discipline, with regular in-service training and scheduled evaluations.

• Experience in instruction or formal educational processes, preferably within a post-secondary or college environment.

• Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as applicable to the discipline.

• At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary institution is preferred, with online experience being an advantage (for online positions only).

• For online roles: Willingness to operate in an accelerated learning format, engaging with students online five of seven days per week.

• For online roles: Willingness to participate in meetings as required by the respective department.
