This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Execute customized pricing strategies for large cases, including an analysis of quoting performance metrics.
• Offer thought leadership and assist in strategic initiatives.
• Lead projects aimed at enhancing pricing and underwriting accuracy, competitiveness, and efficiency.
• Assist in product development and pricing requirements for various business lines.
• Contribute to the development of strategies for voluntary benefits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in sales, underwriting, compliance, and finance.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes.
• Keep abreast of advancements in actuarial techniques, standards, assumptions, and legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Review and propose modifications to company policies and practices.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to less experienced student actuaries.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field.
• ASA or an equivalent designation is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in an actuarial capacity is required.
• Required experience: 5+ years for actuary level and 3+ years for Actuarial Associate III level.
• Highly preferred: Experience in creating pricing strategies for large product lines in Supplemental Health, Disability, or Life products.
• Advanced Excel and VBA proficiency is required.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI dashboard creation, and GGY Axis is advantageous.
• Previous experience collaborating with underwriting and sales teams is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
• Competence in project management and conflict resolution.
• Capability to mentor less experienced student actuaries.
• Ability to work independently on new tasks.
• Skill in managing ambiguous tasks and aligning them with the team's operational model.
• Aptitude for monitoring developments in actuarial techniques, standards, assumptions, and legal and regulatory matters.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check and verification of employment, education, and licensing.
