Actuary – RP Modeling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Assist with Retirement Plan (RP) projection modeling, encompassing regular projections, model improvements, and actuarial analyses.

• Create and sustain GGY AXIS models for financial reporting, risk management, business strategy, and key initiatives.

• Direct model creation for new business ventures, product enhancements, and adapting to regulatory changes.

• Conduct intricate or innovative ad-hoc analyses and relay actionable insights to Product Line, Finance, Risk Management, and senior leadership.

• Ensure governance, testing, documentation, and control standards are met for assigned models.

• Aid in ALM, Cash Flow Testing (CFT), Effective Duration, and other projection-based risk and profitability assessments.

• Collaborate with modeling leaders and stakeholders to assess opportunities, enhance modeling capabilities, and deliver actuarial insights that support growth, profitability, risk management, and informed decision-making.

• Guide less experienced student actuaries and offer thought leadership to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related discipline is required.

• ASA designation is necessary; FSA is preferred.

• Over 5 years of actuarial experience with proven expertise in actuarial projection modeling.

• Experience in developing and maintaining projection models for Retirement Plans, Individual Annuities, or similar long-duration insurance products.

• Knowledge of Asset Liability Management (ALM), Cash Flow Testing (CFT), projection-based risk analysis, and Retirement Plan or Individual Annuity products.

• Experience in supporting new business initiatives, model development, and complex ad-hoc actuarial analyses.

• Capability to transform business inquiries into modeling solutions and convey results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong hands-on experience with GGY AXIS is required.

• Advanced skills in Excel are mandatory.

• Familiarity with Python, Power BI, and VBA is preferred.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to cultivate trust and establish effective partnerships across the organization.

• Capability to work independently on new projects and generate innovative solutions.
