This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Assist in the quarterly valuation and financial reporting processes for Universal Life products.
• Prepare and evaluate Statutory, GAAP, and Tax reserves along with associated financial results.
• Analyze financial results on a period-over-period basis, identify key drivers, and document insights.
• Maintain, test, and enhance valuation models along with supporting processes.
• Evaluate the effects of updates to models, assumptions, and methodologies on financial outcomes.
• Provide support for actuarial testing, regulatory reporting, and governance initiatives.
• Create analytical tools, reporting solutions, and process automation projects.
• Offer valuation assistance for new products, product enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
• Generate reports, exhibits, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with teams in Finance, Financial Reporting, Pricing, Modeling, and other actuarial functions.
• Partner with valuation actuaries, financial reporting professionals, and interdisciplinary business teams.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least two actuarial exams completed.
• A strong commitment to ongoing progress in actuarial exams.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• A keen interest in life insurance valuation, financial reporting, and actuarial modeling.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with databases and SQL or similar query languages.
• Programming skills or aptitude in VBA, Python, PowerShell, or comparable tools.
• Familiarity with actuarial modeling systems.
• An understanding of life insurance valuation principles and financial reporting standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing multiple tasks effectively.
