This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the creation, testing, upkeep, and documentation of pricing tools utilized for accurate and effective business pricing.
• Help conduct portfolio analyses, which include examining composition, premium, retention, loss, and profitability metrics across various products and business lines.
• Gather performance metrics such as rate and retention; summarize findings and aid in communicating data-driven insights to business partners and management.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of rating manuals, rate filings, and related actuarial documentation.
• Utilize actuarial tools, data, and modeling software to facilitate pricing, valuation, and risk management analyses.
• Engage in discussions with underwriting and claims teams regarding profitability, business performance, and strategic plans.
• Aid in the formulation of business recommendations and analyses concerning pricing and portfolio strategies.
• Investigate industry trends and evaluate their potential impact on pricing practices and portfolio performance.
• Gain insight into company operations, insurance products, systems, and actuarial methodologies.
• Manage assigned tasks accurately and punctually while exercising sound judgment, attention to detail, and proper documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, data science, finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
• A commitment to obtaining the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation, with preferred progress towards actuarial exams.
• Over 2 years of relevant professional, internship, academic, or analytical experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Capability to clearly communicate analytical results in both written and verbal forms to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, working independently under guidance, and collaborating effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred experience or coursework in Property and Casualty insurance, actuarial science, pricing, underwriting, claims, or insurance operations.
• Familiarity with SQL, R, Python, Power BI, or similar analytical and data visualization tools is preferred.
• Understanding of current insurance trends and operations within Property and Casualty insurance is preferred.
