This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
β’ Assist the actuarial workstream for NSA, encompassing forecasts, reserve estimates, liability monitoring, profitability analyses, and evaluations of financial impacts.
β’ Collaborate with teams from Actuarial, Finance, Operations, Legal, HNS, and vendor partners to collect, validate, and interpret data essential for NSA financial analysis and reporting.
β’ Create and uphold documentation regarding NSA data sources, underlying assumptions, methodologies, process flows, and reporting definitions.
β’ Develop recurring reporting packages that summarize trends in NSA inventory, liability changes, payment activities, financial impacts, and operational updates.
β’ Enhance data quality, optimize data collection processes, minimize manual efforts, and bolster ongoing monitoring of NSA activities.
β’ Incorporate NSA inventory, liability, and payment data into actuarial reserving, forecasting, and financial reporting procedures.
β’ Prepare analyses, summaries, and presentation materials to convey NSA financial outcomes, emerging trends, significant risks, and recommendations.
β’ Engage in NSA working sessions and stakeholder meetings to gain insights into operational changes, assess financial implications, and offer an actuarial perspective.
β’ Track regulatory, operational, and claims-related developments impacting NSA financial results and report findings to actuarial leadership.
β’ Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects across reserving, pricing, forecasting, and various actuarial functions.
β’ Support team members by establishing priorities, reviewing analytical outputs, providing guidance, and ensuring the timely completion of NSA actuarial deliverables.
β’ A bachelor's degree is mandatory, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
β’ Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in actuarial and/or statistics, or completion of the Associate level in the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
β’ ASA candidate status is advantageous.
β’ Proficient knowledge of Excel is essential.
β’ Advanced skills in SAS are required.
β’ Experience with trends, actuarial forecasting, and reserves is necessary.
β’ Familiarity with NSA regulations is preferred.
β’ Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required.
β’ Strong analytical thinking capabilities are essential.
β’ Robust mathematical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis are required.
β’ Good judgment and effective problem-solving skills are essential.
β’ Proven ability and willingness to take ownership of intricate data processes, independently investigate issues, and drive them to resolution.
