This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage with insurance payers to follow up on outstanding claims

• Identify and eliminate barriers to payment, expediting cash collections

• Pursue and collect on assigned accounts

• Implement follow-up strategies and tools to resolve claims and secure payment

• Elevate unresolved claims to payer claims supervisors when necessary

• Record client host-system activities utilizing the 5 W’s framework and relevant policies and procedures

• Transfer account notes into Amplify’s workflow tool

• Apply status codes in Amplify’s workflow tool to monitor and address trends

• Draft first- and second-level appeals for denials to ensure payment

• Notify management of payer denial trends and other relevant issues

• Manage assigned underpayments as directed by management

• Uphold daily productivity and quality standards

• Investigate and analyze correspondence related to assigned accounts

• Communicate regularly with team members, management, and clients via email, phone, video meetings, and collaborative tools

⛳️ Requirements

• Capacity to work independently from home in a dynamic, fast-paced, and goal-driven environment

• Experience in direct account follow-up and/or billing

• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel is preferred

• Ability to protect confidential patient account information

• Comprehension of the complete revenue cycle

• Detail-oriented and well-organized

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Skill in managing inquiries and customer interactions

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3–5 years of experience in insurance accounts receivable follow-up

• Previous experience with California payers is preferred
