Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage with insurance payers to follow up on outstanding claims

• Identify barriers to payment and expedite cash collections

• Pursue and collect on accounts within designated inventory

• Implement follow-up strategies and utilize tools to resolve claims and secure payment

• Refer unpaid claims to payer claims supervisors if standard follow-up attempts fail

• Record client host systems in accordance with the 5 W’s framework and relevant policies and procedures

• Transfer account notes into Amplify’s workflow tool

• Utilize status codes in Amplify to track and address emerging trends

• Draft first- and second-level appeals for denials to reverse decisions and ensure payment

• Report payer denial patterns and other trends to Management

• Manage assigned underpayments as instructed by Management

• Consistently meet daily productivity and quality standards

• Investigate and analyze correspondence related to assigned accounts

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to work autonomously from home in a dynamic, fast-paced, and goal-driven environment

• Experience in direct account follow-up and/or billing

• Familiarity with Medical Terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG

• Preferably possess intermediate skills in Excel

• Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of patient account information

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire revenue cycle

• Detail-oriented, organized, and equipped with critical thinking capabilities

• Strong problem-solving, inquiry handling, and customer interaction abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Additional training in hospital insurance collections is advantageous

• 3-5 years of collections experience within a Hospital Business Office

• Reliable internet connection, a quiet dedicated workspace, and access to essential office equipment

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients through email, phone, video meetings, and collaboration tools
