This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Follow up with insurance payers regarding outstanding claims.

• Identify obstacles to payment and enhance cash collection processes.

• Pursue and collect on assigned accounts.

• Implement follow-up strategies and tools to resolve claims and secure payment.

• Escalate unpaid claims to payer claims supervisors when necessary.

• Document client host systems using the 5 W’s framework along with relevant policies and procedures.

• Transfer account notes into Amplify’s workflow tool.

• Assign status codes in Amplify to identify and analyze trends.

• Draft first- and second-level appeals for denied claims.

• Report payer denial trends and other issues to Management.

• Address assigned underpayments as directed by Management.

• Maintain daily productivity and quality standards.

• Investigate and analyze correspondence related to assigned accounts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to work independently from home in a dynamic, goal-oriented environment.

• Experience in direct account follow-up and/or billing.

• Familiarity with Medical Terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding.

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel is preferred.

• Capacity to protect confidential patient account information.

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire revenue cycle.

• Detail-oriented and well-organized.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in handling inquiries and interacting with customers.

• High school diploma or equivalent educational background.

• Additional training in hospital insurance collections is advantageous.

• 3–5 years of collections experience within a Hospital Business Office.
