This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of and oversee all daily, weekly, and monthly billing and accounts receivable functions.
• Manage the complete billing cycle for all designated payers, which includes claim submissions, payment postings, reconciliations, denial management, and resolving underpayments.
• Examine accounts receivable on a weekly basis, follow up on unpaid balances, and keep deposit and tracking records up to date.
• Conduct charge validations, corrections, and continuous data integrity assessments.
• Maintain monthly statistics on trended hours along with payment and revenue summaries.
• Generate accounts receivable, revenue, and payer performance reports for leadership and Contract Fulfillment evaluations.
• Monitor payer performance, denial patterns, and reimbursement schedules.
• Reach out to funders to establish and manage Single Case Agreements and explore new contracting possibilities.
• Cultivate and sustain professional relationships with funder representatives while tracking the status of agreements.
• Prepare and assist with audits related to insurance, internal processes, FSO, and charge validations.
• Ensure adherence to payer, contractual, organizational, and regulatory standards.
• Lead the review of discharge processes and billing closures.
• Own and manage billing workflows across NPA and SimplePractice systems.
• Assist with appointment verifications, billing readiness, and troubleshooting within systems.
• Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement enhancements.
• Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for billing and accounts receivable.
• Act as the primary billing liaison for Clinical, Contract Fulfillment, Accounting, Admin, and Operations teams.
• Offer guidance on billing protocols, documentation, timing, co-payments, and co-insurance.
• Support clients with billing inquiries, payment plans, and educational resources regarding billing.
• Manage escalated billing inquiries from clients and payers, communicating about pending claims, discrepancies, and resolutions.
• Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and a high level of service at all times.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• The candidate must be based in the United States.
• Must have reliable internet access, a personal work computer, and a professional remote work setting.
• Availability to work from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Time, with flexibility for evening hours during busy periods.
• Must consistently work within the Pacific Time Zone.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or healthcare administration is required.
• Experience in an ABA or behavioral health environment is highly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and tracking are essential.
• Familiarity with billing systems and EHRs, such as NPA, SimplePractice, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively.
