Accounts Payable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Process and accurately code vendor invoices.

• Review bills to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization.

• Input and maintain accounts payable information within the accounting system.

• Disburse payments to vendors in accordance with corporate policies.

• Reconcile vendor statements on a regular basis.

• Address and resolve disputes as they arise.

• Provide administrative assistance, reporting, and reconciliations for the finance team.

• Support cost reporting and manage employee reimbursements.

• Communicate with vendors regarding the status of invoices and payments.

• Assist with both month-end and year-end accounting processes.

• Maintain organized electronic files for correspondence, bills, and payments.

• Ensure confidentiality of commercial and financial information.

• Report any unusual transactions and irregularities promptly.

• Implement company financial policies, procedures, and controls effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or a finance-related field.

• Understanding of basic accounting principles.

• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

• Highly organized and capable of multitasking while prioritizing deadlines.

• Self-motivated individual who can work remotely.

• Ability to manage accurate and confidential financial data.

• Experience in a SaaS or technology-focused organization.

• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and accounts payable automation.

• Higher education in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.

• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
