Accounts Payable Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Review, verify, code, and process vendor invoices in line with accounting procedures and approval protocols.

• Match invoices with purchase orders, contracts, receipts, and necessary supporting documentation.

• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and any outstanding account issues.

• Coordinate payment schedules with authorized stakeholders and address vendor payment inquiries.

• Maintain vendor records, invoice documentation, payment approvals, and essential financial information.

• Assist with month-end closing processes, accounts payable reconciliations, accrued expenses, and reviews of outstanding invoices.

• Prepare accounts payable reports and documentation for financial reviews, audits, and internal reporting purposes.

• Support controls for vendor onboarding processes and modifications to vendor payment details.

• Identify recurring processing issues and propose enhancements for workflow and recordkeeping.

• Handle sensitive financial information and collaborate with remote colleagues regarding accounting inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, bookkeeping, or a related finance role.

• Working knowledge of invoice processing, general ledger coding, vendor reconciliation, payment controls, and accounting principles.

• Experience with accounting software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or comparable financial platforms.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet applications.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, organization, and time management abilities.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills with the capability to work effectively in a remote environment.

• Commitment to confidentiality, precise documentation, and adherence to established financial approval procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Additional accounting coursework, a relevant qualification, or a degree in accounting or finance is an asset.

• Experience supporting month-end close, preparing audit documentation, enhancing accounts payable workflows, or utilizing accounting automation tools will be given additional consideration.

• Familiarity with multi-department expense management and process documentation is advantageous.
