Accounting Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage the Accounting team, holding both functional and disciplinary responsibility.

• Assume overall accountability for the accounting and financial reporting frameworks for the Group’s three entities located in Germany, Cyprus, and the United States.

• Timely prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with German GAAP (HGB), while accommodating the specific requirements of Cyprus and the US.

• Supervise Group Accounting and oversee the consolidation process of the three entities.

• Ensure the precise accounting treatment of intricate goods and service flows, and manage intercompany mapping.

• Maintain productive relationships with tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities across all markets.

• Collaborate with the FP&A team to provide accurate internal and external financial data.

• Further enhance and scale the Oracle NetSuite system landscape.

• Automate processes and ensure adherence to all tax regulations.

• Report directly to the VP of Finance & Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in accounting.

• Initial experience in a leadership role, either functional or disciplinary, within a trading, retail, or e-commerce setting.

• Successfully completed a degree in Business Administration or Finance or hold a qualification as a certified accountant.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards under IFRS and HGB.

• Experience working with international entities in Cyprus and the United States, along with basic knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.

• Comprehensive understanding of intercompany reconciliations and international tax legislation relevant to trading companies.

• Proficient in Oracle NetSuite or similar mid-market or enterprise ERP systems.

• Excellent skills in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.

• Business-fluent in both German and English.

• Ideally, experience with AI automation and agentic workflows in Finance.

• Empathetic and clear leadership style, with the ability to establish structures and foster team development.
