Accounting & Tax Manager – Fixed-Term Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Prepare annual financial statements for German entities in compliance with German GAAP (HGB).

• Lead and mentor a team of two General Ledger Accountants.

• Oversee the external accounting service provider.

• Coordinate annual audits and collaborate closely with external auditors.

• Manage month-end closing processes, review journal entries, and analyze financial performance.

• Act as the primary contact for complex accounting issues.

• Organize corporate income tax and trade tax submissions with external tax advisors.

• Assist with tax audits and communicate with tax authorities and external advisors.

• Ensure adherence to tax regulations, including withholding tax and reporting duties.

• Aid in the accounting for current and deferred taxes under IFRS.

• Perform tax analyses and reconciliations.

• Support the development and implementation of transfer pricing frameworks.

• Evaluate changes in German tax legislation and determine required actions.

• Assist with treasury functions and cash management operations.

• Play a vital role in strategic finance initiatives, including bank migrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Tax (e.g., certified accountant, tax advisor, auditor, or equivalent).

• Several years of professional experience in accounting and taxation.

• Extensive knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and, ideally, IFRS.

• Experience in an international corporate setting.

• Confident interaction with auditors, tax advisors, and authorities.

• Proficient in both written and spoken German and English.

• Organized, independent, and solution-oriented work style.
