
Accounting Subsidy Billing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage, oversee, and implement subsidy billing operations.
• Analyze and interpret governing documents, subsidy agreements, contracts, and associated legal materials.
• Calculate and generate subsidy billings utilizing approved methodologies.
• Create and maintain cash flow forecasts related to subsidy funding and expected collections.
• Articulate subsidy calculations, billing methods, and financial implications to clients, board members, and internal stakeholders.
• Act as the main point of contact for client discussions regarding subsidy billing, funding requirements, and payment status.
• Collaborate with Community Managers and internal teams to address billing inquiries and ensure compliance.
• Accurately post subsidy billings to the general ledger and reconcile billing activities with accounting records.
• Monitor subsidy receivables and pursue outstanding payments.
• Prepare and maintain monthly subsidy billing trackers.
• Keep documentation supporting calculations, assumptions, references to governing documents, billing schedules, and client communications.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing billing processes, documentation standards, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with audits by supplying supporting documentation and responding to subsidy-related questions.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and client specifications.
• Support month-end closing activities as necessary.
• Work remotely from a home office and engage in virtual meetings and telephone communications.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, property management, community association management, or a comparable financial operations role.
• Preferred experience in interpreting contracts, governing documents, legal agreements, or funding arrangements.
• Experience in managing receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to review, interpret, and apply governing documents, subsidy agreements, contracts, and legal documentation.
• Proven experience in calculating and preparing complex billings using established methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with remarkable attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in preparing and maintaining cash flow projections and analyzing financial impacts.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software systems.
• Ability to maintain comprehensive and organized documentation.
• Knowledge of internal controls, audit support processes, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
• Capability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
• Willingness to assist with month-end closing and other accounting tasks as needed.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Capability to work primarily in a remote/home-office setting with reliable internet access.
• Ability to engage in video conferences, virtual meetings, and telephone communications.
• Ability to lift and carry office materials, files, laptop equipment, or other work-related items weighing up to 15 pounds.
