Accounting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and various accounting functions related to Cash, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Time and Labor, and Leases.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for enhancement.

• Create financial reporting documents, including rollforwards, reporting schedules, and variance analyses.

• Assess agreements, reports, and data to ascertain the appropriate accounting treatment.

• Collaborate across departments to foster cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.

• Enhance processes and improve performance through automation.

• Offer guidance, coaching, and training to team members.

• Clarify and interpret accounting policies, procedures, and practices.

• Assist with internal and external audit requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience.

• Alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the complete accounting cycle.

• Proven experience in driving and leading special projects.

• Familiarity with automation processes.

• Proficiency in SAP, PeopleSoft, Costpoint, HFM, ARCS, and CoStar.

• Strong foundation in accounting principles and GAAP.

• Understanding of internal controls and related regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley.

• In-depth knowledge of ASC 842 Lease Accounting and ASC 360 Property, Plant, and Equipment standards and requirements.

• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.

• CPA, CFA, CPP, or CMA designation is advantageous.

• Experience in Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting.

• Familiarity with external auditors and audit requirements for internal controls and government compliance, including SOX and DCAA.
