This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including handling invoices, payments, deposits, refunds, and adjustments.
• Prepare and assess routine journal entries such as accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and corrections.
• Ensure the accuracy of coding, approvals, and the completeness of billing and payment records.
• Maintain well-organized accounting files, audit trails, contracts, and financial documentation.
• Record and reconcile transactions related to insurance, including premiums, commissions, claims payments, recoveries, refunds, and policy-related receivables and payables.
• Review billing, policy administration, claims, and payment data for accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to insurance transactions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, billing, finance, and operations teams.
• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare account summaries, aging reports, transaction details, and regular financial reports.
• Provide support for internal and external audits.
• Adhere to accounting policies, internal controls, segregation of duties, and approval requirements.
• Safeguard confidential financial, customer, policyholder, claims, and business information.
• Contribute to enhancements in accounting workflows, documentation standards, reconciliation processes, systems, reporting, and process documentation.
• Assist with compliance reviews and other finance-related projects as needed.
• An associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a similar financial operations position.
• Familiarity with double-entry accounting, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
• Basic knowledge of insurance accounting transactions, including premiums, commissions, claims, refunds, and policy-related activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis.
• Experience with accounting software and/or enterprise systems such as ERP or financial management platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial data.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage confidential information with professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Preferred: Experience in insurance, financial services, public accounting, or professional services.
• Preferred: Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Preferred: Knowledge of insurance billing, claims payment processes, commissions, carrier statements, and policy-related accounting.
• Preferred: Understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and/or insurance accounting practices.
• Preferred: Experience supporting month-end close, audits, internal controls, or financial reporting.
• Preferred: Progress toward a relevant accounting or finance certification.
