Accounting Manager – Loyalty Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +39 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the accounting for the loyalty program, which includes deferred revenue, points liability, breakage estimates, and reward note reconciliation.

• Calculate and maintain balances for deferred revenue and point/note liabilities while ensuring adherence to revenue recognition standards.

• Record and review monthly accruals for points/notes that have been earned, redeemed, expired, and adjusted.

• Reconcile data from the loyalty platform with the general ledger.

• Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and forecasts related to the loyalty program.

• Provide necessary documentation and support for internal controls and audits.

• Determine GAAP accounting treatment for new benefits, which includes performance obligations and marketing expenses.

• Collaborate with loyalty operations, marketing, and technology teams to validate data, enhance month-end closing processes, and strengthen controls through automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA in Accounting.

• Over 8 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Experience in addressing complex contractual and accounting challenges within high-growth, partner-facing business models.

• Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities, with a talent for formulating recommendations and influencing leadership decisions.

• Demonstrated success in exercising sound judgment in analysis, leadership, and communication.
