Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of daily accounts payable tasks, cash reconciliations, and essential general ledger operations.

• Process, categorize, and assess vendor invoices and employee expense reports utilizing Ramp/Zip and NetSuite.

• Oversee the entire accounts payable workflow from start to finish.

• Manage vendor and payment reconciliations, investigating root causes of discrepancies and aged items.

• Prepare and record monthly corporate accounting journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications.

• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for cash and designated accounts.

• Reconcile bank and cash accounts while monitoring for unusual activities.

• Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including flux analysis and supporting documentation.

• Identify and implement automation opportunities for repetitive AP and reconciliation tasks using AI tools and workflow automation.

• Collaborate with procurement, budget owners, and vendors to address invoice and payment discrepancies.

• Maintain documentation that is ready for audit purposes.

• Manage the travel and expense program, encompassing card issuance, policy enforcement, compliance with receipts, and transaction audits.

• Utilize AI tools within Ramp to pre-audit expenses for policy adherence.

• Report directly to the Controller.

• Contribute to the development of Ohalo's accounting and finance infrastructure and business processes as the company expands.

• Ohalo is focused on creating innovative breeding systems and enhanced plant varieties to assist farmers in increasing food production with fewer natural resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable.

• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles (GAAP).

• A self-motivated individual who takes initiative and reasons from foundational principles.

• Possess strong intellectual curiosity and problem-solving abilities.

• Preferred familiarity with NetSuite, Ramp, and Zip (or similar procurement/AP automation platforms).

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in a high-growth or fast-paced environment is preferred.

• Comfortable utilizing AI tools to enhance repetitive accounting tasks is preferred.
