Accounting Manager, GovCon Client Portfolio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of client onboarding, status meetings, delivery schedules, and retention within the designated portfolio.

• Evaluate payroll and month-end closing packages prior to their release.

• Articulate cash positions, performance results, and trends to clients.

• Conduct and supervise reconciliations, journal entries, payroll, labor distribution, and job-cost reporting.

• Manage indirect and provisional rates, incurred cost submissions, budgets, forecasts, and SF 1408 assessments in collaboration with Controller/CFO leadership.

• Mentor and oversee the development of accountants.

• Optimize workloads and enhance the quality of deliverables.

• Collaborate with Controller/CFO leadership while expanding overall responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to government contracts.

• Practical knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DCAA, and CAS, particularly regarding cost allowability and indirect rates.

• Experience managing client relationships or similar accounting responsibilities within a business unit.

• Proven experience in reviewing work and providing guidance to staff.

• Familiarity with Unanet, QuickBooks, Deltek Costpoint, or a similar accounting software.

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a comparable related experience.

• U.S. citizenship is required due to client contract stipulations.

• Prior success in delivering accounting services within a consulting setting is highly preferred.

• Expertise in Unanet combined with QuickBooks is particularly advantageous.

• CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
