Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the order-to-cash process for transaction-based revenue sources, managing everything from billing setup to cash application and reconciliation.

• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and control of invoice processing, cash application, and revenue recognition procedures.

• Utilize U.S. GAAP revenue recognition principles to assess transaction activities and articulate decisions to auditors and business stakeholders.

• Independently make routine revenue accounting decisions while escalating complex judgment calls to the Controller.

• Mentor and develop the accounting team, establishing expectations and reviewing their work.

• Work alongside Customer Success, Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to resolve billing inquiries and clarify the impact of processes.

• Identify manual processes for optimization, test automation with appropriate controls, and maintain human oversight for accounting judgments.

• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to prioritize team tasks, document decisions, and proactively address risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active CPA license is required.

• Experience in accounting management or team leadership, including mentoring, performance reviews, and setting clear expectations.

• In-depth technical knowledge of accounting, particularly concerning revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP.

• Comprehensive ownership of billing, accounts receivable, cash application, or order-to-cash processes.

• Background in transaction-based billing, usage-driven revenue models, or similar frameworks where activity influences invoicing and recognition.

• Proven track record of enhancing accounting processes while ensuring controls, accuracy, and audit readiness.

• Capacity to make routine decisions independently, supported by clear reasoning.

• Strong communication skills with Customer Success, Sales, Legal, and Finance teams.

• Proficiency in AI, including its use in repeatable accounting processes with human review of accounting decisions.

• Ability to explain workflow checks, identify failure points, and verify outputs prior to making changes to financial records or customer billing.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
